Getting to the top spot on google

Getting to the top spot on google is never a guarantee as google does whatever the hell it wants lol. But there are a few main things that (in googles eyes) will put your website above others.

1. Content on your website - a good marketing company will research what local people in your city search for when looking for your service. You want these keywords strategically placed within your website (1 keyword for every 150 words to not look spammy). You also want more content explaining what you do because google loves that shit. More content allows for more keywords.

2. Citations/Directories - Having your business NAP (name, address, phone number) in directories such as BBB, yelp, yellow pages, etc. will help get your google business profile ranked in the top 3 of the google map pack.

3. Backlinks - after having the correct content on your website you want to get backlinks that point to the keywords on your website. Backlinks are when one website has a link on its site that goes to your website. These are what will get your website ranking organically. This can cost big money depending on how difficult the keyword is trying to rank for. Would you rather spend $1000/month for a billboard that only a few people will see or $1000/month SEO that everyone in your area will see?
